What travels with the part

Every part leaves with a record.

Part number, revision, material lot, process settings and a dimensional record go out with every job, at no extra charge. This page lists each record, what it contains and when you receive it, so your supplier qualification form can be filled in from one place.

Data sheet on every materialLot traceabilityNDA on request

On every job

Four controls that run whether you ask or not.

Part numbering

Every part gets a controlled identifier, marked on the part where geometry allows and carried on every document that follows it.

Revision control

A revision letter changes whenever the geometry, material or process does, so the part in your hand matches the drawing in your file.

Lot traceability

Resin and powder are tracked by lot from receipt to build, and the lot number is written on the data sheet cover you receive.

Dimensional record

Critical features measured against the model and written down, with a CAD-to-scan deviation map from the MetroY Ultra on request.

This is what travels with the part from CETS: identity, revision, material traceability, process record and a dimensional record, on every job and in either language. There is no volume threshold and no premium tier for documentation. A first article inspection is available on any new part number before the balance of the order ships, and the same records are kept on file so a reorder is a reorder, not a second engineering job.

The five records

What is in the pack, and when it arrives.

RecordWhat it containsWhen you get it
Part number and revisionA controlled identifier and revision letter, marked on the part where geometry allows and repeated on every document that follows it.Assigned with the quote, fixed at order.
Material data sheetThe published Formlabs technical data sheet for the exact resin or powder used, with the material lot number written on the cover. With the delivery pack.
Print and post-process recordMachine, material, layer height, orientation, wash and cure or powder recovery settings, and the operator sign-off.With the delivery pack.
Dimensional record or scan reportCritical features measured against the model and written down. On request, a full CAD-to-scan deviation map from the Revopoint MetroY Ultra CMM Edition. With the delivery pack, or before shipment on a first article.
Lot and batch recordWhich parts came off which build, on which date, from which material lot, so a deviation investigation has something to read. With the delivery pack, retained on file for reorders.

Every record is issued in English or Spanish, whichever your quality system runs in, and delivered as PDF alongside the STEP and native CAD files you own.

First article approval

One part first, the rest after you sign.

On a new part number, or on any order you flag, one part is built, measured and sent ahead with its full record. The balance of the order runs once your quality team approves it.

  • Critical dimensions you mark on the drawing are the ones we measure and report
  • Full CAD-to-scan deviation map from the MetroY Ultra on request, colour mapped and tabulated
  • Your approval, or your changes, become the next revision letter before the balance runs
  • Ask for a sample record before your first order.

Confidentiality and supplier packs

Your paperwork, completed.

Send the forms your quality system requires and they come back filled in. Send the files your part requires and they stay where you put them.

  • NDA on request. Yours or ours, signed before any file is opened.
  • Supplier qualification forms completed. Questionnaires, capability surveys and approved supplier packages, returned with the supporting records attached.
  • Files never shown as samples without written permission. Your parts, drawings and scan data do not appear on this site or in any proposal unless you say so in writing.
  • File ownership. STEP, native CAD and drawings produced for your job are yours, delivered with the part.

Quality posture

Documented work, stated plainly.

CETS operates to an ISO 9001 roadmap: controlled part numbering, revision control, material traceability by lot, and a written dimensional inspection record on every job. We are glad to walk your quality team through the current documentation package, and to complete your supplier qualification forms.

Regulatory determination for your device or assembly stays with your quality and regulatory team. We supply the part, the material documentation and the dimensional record they need to make it.

FAQ

Common questions

What arrives with a first order?

The part, the part number and revision letter, the Formlabs technical data sheet for the exact material and lot, the print and post-process record, and a written dimensional record against the model. On request, the CAD-to-scan report from the MetroY Ultra and a sample record before you order.

Where does CETS stand on ISO 9001?

CETS operates to an ISO 9001 roadmap: controlled part numbering, revision control, material traceability by lot, and a written dimensional inspection record on every job. We are glad to walk your quality team through the current documentation package.

Who owns the CAD, scan data and drawings?

You do. Files you send and files we produce for your job are yours, delivered as STEP and native CAD, and kept on file only so a reorder does not become a second engineering job. Nothing is shown as a work sample without your written permission.

Send your supplier qualification form.

It comes back completed, with the supporting records attached, and a sample record if you want one before the first order.
