12 material families, one shop

Materials for every application.

Engineering resins for 3D printing on the SLA side, nylon and TPU powders on the SLS side: rigid, tough, heat resistant, flexible, biocompatible and everything between. Every material CETS quotes comes with a published technical data sheet, so your quality group reads real numbers before approving anything.

How we pick

The material follows the part, not the printer.

Published data sheets

Tensile strength, elongation, heat deflection and biocompatibility, published by the manufacturer and sent with your quote.

12 material families

From general purpose form models to silicone, ESD safe and biocompatible resins, plus nylon and TPU on the SLS side.

Lot traceability

Resin and powder are tracked by lot, so a regulated job can be traced back to the exact material that made it.

We tell you when to say no

If the load, temperature or chemistry is outside what additive can hold, we say so and point you to the right process.

CETS runs engineering resins for 3D printing on the Formlabs Form 4B and nylon and TPU powders on the Formlabs Fuse, in Puerto Rico. Choose by what the part has to survive: stiffness, impact, heat, chemical exposure, flexibility, static dissipation or skin contact. Resins print by SLA 3D printing and powders by SLS 3D printing; every quote arrives with the technical data sheet for the exact material selected.

The families below are representative; the exact resin and powder list is confirmed on your quote.

Twelve families, one shop.

Twelve families across stereolithography and selective laser sintering. Not sure which one? Send the part and we will recommend it.

Rigid

Rigid 10K · Rigid 4000

Stiff, dimensionally stable parts that must not flex under load. Gauges, fixtures and thin walled housings.

Tough & Durable

Tough 2000 · Tough 1500 · Durable

Parts that take impact, snap fits and repeated assembly without cracking. The default for functional prototypes.

General Purpose

Grey · White · Black · Draft

Fast, low cost form and fit models for design review, mock ups and clearance checks.

High Temperature

High Temp · Rigid 10K

Parts near heat sources, hot air and steam, or short autoclave cycles. Tooling and mould inserts.

Clear

Clear · Clear Cast

See flow, fill, an internal channel or a seal. Polishable to near optical clarity for fluidics and lenses.

Flame Retardant

Flame Retardant Resin

For enclosures, connectors and interior parts that have to meet a flammability requirement.

ESD Safe

ESD Resin

Static dissipative fixtures, trays and handling aids for electronics assembly and PCB work.

Elastomeric

Elastic 50A · Flexible 80A

Gaskets, dampers, grips, seals and anything that has to bend and return to shape.

Silicone

Silicone 40A

True silicone parts for boots, bellows, seals and soft touch components, printed directly without a mould.

Biocompatible

BioMed Clear · BioMed Durable

Skin and tissue contact applications, printed on the Form 4B, with the biocompatibility documentation published for each resin.

Nylon (SLS)

Nylon 12 · 11 · 12 GF · 11 CF

Tough, isotropic end use parts with no support marks. Living hinges, snap fits and metal bracket replacements.

TPU (SLS)

TPU 90A

Flexible, abrasion resistant nylon-process parts. Ducting, bellows, padding and protective covers.

Castable and ceramic options are available for specific applications. Ask and we will confirm before quoting.

Choose by property

What the part has to survive.

The quickest way to narrow the list is to describe the failure you are trying to avoid. If the choice is between the two processes rather than two resins, the SLA vs SLS guide covers tolerances and finish.

Engineering first

One shop designs it, checks it and makes it.

  • Design review before anything prints: material, orientation, tolerances and how the part will fail.
  • Scan verification after: the finished part measured against the model on the MetroY Ultra, with a written record.
  • A drawing and the CAD you own, so the next order is a reorder, not a second engineering job.
  • Design and build, or reverse engineer and build, under one roof, in Puerto Rico and for the US mainland.

CETS serves Puerto Rico and the US mainland, with international service available.

FAQ

Common questions

How do I know which material my part needs?

Tell us what the part does: where it sits, what it touches, what load it takes, and any heat or chemical exposure. We recommend a material and a process, and send the technical data sheet with the quote so you can check the numbers yourself.

Do you send material data sheets?

Yes, with every quote. Each material is a Formlabs material with a published technical data sheet covering tensile strength, elongation, heat deflection temperature and, where relevant, biocompatibility.

Can additive materials replace a metal part?

Often yes. Carbon filled Nylon 11 CF and Rigid 10K replace many metal brackets, guards and fixtures at a fraction of the weight and lead time. We review the loads with you before recommending it.

What if I need a material that is not listed?

Ask. Castable and ceramic options are available for specific applications, and if an application is genuinely outside additive we will point you to the right process rather than force a fit.

Not sure which material fits?

Describe what the part has to do and we will recommend the material, the process and the date.
